Matt and Nat S/S 2018 Collection: For Every Journey

As a vegan brand, Matt & Nat have continued to create fashion-leading, animal-cruelty-free accessories since 1995. Founded by Inder Bedi and Manny Kohli, their HQ resides where it was born, in Montreal, Canada. Matt & Nat (which stands for material and nature) combines their belief for natural materials in all their products whilst maintaining an eco-friendly production. Natural hues and textures, cork, rubber, and other ground-breaking fabrics are used in their collections, and most recently recycled bicycle tires.

For their S/S 18 collection, Matt & Nat have created a line that embraces every journey. Given the name Find Me Here, representing the map locator marker, they’ve intended their designs to speak to the wandering spirit. The collection brings forward again their motto of ‘living beautifully’.

And living beautifully has never been so easy. Matt and Nat pioneer vegan accessories with their stunning S/S 18 collection. Their beliefs of building a more sustainable future continues to pave their way into each new season. These ethically sourced materials mean their products contain no leather or other animal derived fabrics. They approximate 21 plastic bottles are recycled for every bag they produce.

Take a look at some of our favourites from their brand new collection.

2. The Vintage Collection, Stella – White

This small satchel with a crossbody strap embraces city style. It’s small and practical for those essential beauty products, phone and money. Three compartments make for an effortlessly organised trip.

3. The Dwell Collection, Mercy – Grass

The Mercy backpack has adjustable shoulder straps and a magnetic flap closure. For tough terrain or city getaways, this accessory is both convenient and elegant, adding class to a fast-paced trip. Add a white blouse to complement the bold Grass colour and finish it off with beige trousers for a flawless, all day look.

4. The Vintage Collection, Stella – Orchid

For the pastel colour of the season, check out the orchid shade available across the collection. The Stella is versatile, elegant and practical, or if you are a traveller who takes more than just the essentials, we recommend trying the Kiara, a round backpack, or perhaps the Reiti, a crossbody medium sized bag, for beautiful urban style.

These reasonably priced, trend-setting bags are available world-wide. They use animal and environmentally friendly materials in every piece. Different styles range from the loom collection, made of 100% PU, which are light and functional, with backpacks and clutches on offer in an array of shades, including pastels. Frequently, PU is used in their designs which is biodegradable, meaning this material is less harmful for the environment. Following catwalk trends, pastels are in this season, and Matt & Nat’s handbag collection can be the complementary accessory to wear these shades in style.

Vibrant shades headline trends for the upcoming season as well. Apply these colours to your wardrobe with the bold shades available in Matt and Nat’s new collection such as their bright Grass or Ruby. For softer colours, be inspired by the gelato hues this spring, and accessorise with a Blossom or Sky shade in the pastel selection.

Another style seen on the catwalk was carrying two or more bags at once. A perfect opportunity to wear your favourite, animal-friendly fashion accessories. And what a better way to wear two bags together when they’re vegan bags? Try a tote and a crossbody for ultimate functionality and style.

Jeans were prominent in many catwalk trends. To make any wardrobe basic look sleek and stylish, wherever you are, why not add a vegan accessory to the style? Likewise, shorts also have a come back this season, a trend nicely accentuated with a backpack or satchel from the S/S collection, or instead, go brave with an orchid-lilac palette as seen in their camo designs.

In a man-made future, ground-breaking ways are being explored to create beautiful, fashionable yet cruelty-free accessories. With their new designs, they wanted to fuse minimalist styles with a modern take for fresh, sophisticated looks. These simple yet elegant styles offer charm to any traveller, globetrotter or wanderer.

Switch off and explore whilst in the Find Me Here collection: vegan accessories to complement every trip. Their new Coast carry-on luggage and small pet carriers also brings adventure to the forefront. With different accessories now available from the Matt and Nat line, they continue to innovate, showing that fashion can take a much animal-friendly route.
