MIRI releases a song for the Christmas season
East London’s MIRI releases a song for the Christmas season, “I wrote this a few years ago and have wanted to release it for ages. I’d never written a Christmas song before. I decided to record a special live version at mine with my good friends; Chip on guitar and Rosered who mixed, recorded and mastered the track all ready for Christmas.”
‘Tinsel Tree’ is the follow-up to MIRI’s single ‘Under My Skin’ with rapper Cheekie Bugga, which received a spin on Tom Robinson’s Saturday night show on BBC Radio 6 Music.
MIRI released her Sound Vibrations EP in 2016 and three of her songs – ‘Blue Skies’, ‘Broken City’ and ‘Red’ – are featured in the 2015 film Fear Of Water, starring Lily Loveless, which screened at the International Women’s Film Festival in LA and has been broadcast on TV in the UK.
MIRI blends heart and grit, distilled through a smooth, melodic pop filter. Blending distinctive soft, smoky and gritty tones with thought provoking heartfelt lyrics; pop songs that speak fluent indie, MIRI has received radio airplay on BBC 6 Music, Radio DIVA, Radio X and randomly on the radio at a Starbucks in Arkansas.
Performing regularly around the UK & Europe MIRI has gained a reputation for her eclectic gigs and stage presence. Past performances include 100 Club for The Official Bob Marley Birthday Celebration, Safe Gigs For Women at The Tooting Tram & Social and Bush Hall supporting Laura Veirs. Her European travels have led her to perform in Barcelona, Amsterdam, Bergen, Rotterdam and Berlin.
‘Tinsel Tree’ is available now on Spotify and via all digital stores.
